  • Bike Repairs 1 August 2026

Do you have a bike that needs some repairs or adjustments to get it back on the road? As part of our mission to help people get bikes back into use we have a professional bike repairer available at the Recreation Ground on Saturday 1st August 2026.

  • National Emergency Briefing

You’re invited to attend a free screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing film on the risks to British life and the UK economy from ongoing damage to nature and to our climate.

Location: St Mary the Virgin Church SN11 0HU
    Date: Thursday 24th September
    Time: 7pm

The film is being shown in hundreds of communities all over the UK. It features footage from last November’s National Emergency Briefing at Westminster, which brought together leading UK experts in climate science, food security, health, economics, national security and nature. It presents a clear, measured and non-partisan overview of how the climate and nature crisis is affecting everyday life in Britain, and what the evidence says about risks and responses.

The purpose of the film is to support informed democratic discussion and ensure that public institutions, businesses and communities share a common understanding of the scale and urgency of the challenge – and the economic opportunities that flow from responding at pace.

Following the 50-minute film, we will host a 45-minute discussion focused on what this means for communities in our area – including resilience and forward planning. You’re also invited to sign the petition asking that the Government stage a televised emergency briefing, the essential first step towards the WW2-scale response now required.

For more information see the National Emergency Briefing on climate & nature

Please note that although this film has a 12A rating, the Climate Psychology Alliance guidance suggests that it is suitable for people aged over 16.
