The film is being shown in hundreds of communities all over the UK. It features footage from last November’s National Emergency Briefing at Westminster, which brought together leading UK experts in climate science, food security, health, economics, national security and nature. It presents a clear, measured and non-partisan overview of how the climate and nature crisis is affecting everyday life in Britain, and what the evidence says about risks and responses.
The purpose of the film is to support informed democratic discussion and ensure that public institutions, businesses and communities share a common understanding of the scale and urgency of the challenge – and the economic opportunities that flow from responding at pace.
Following the 50-minute film, we will host a 45-minute discussion focused on what this means for communities in our area – including resilience and forward planning. You’re also invited to sign the petition asking that the Government stage a televised emergency briefing, the essential first step towards the WW2-scale response now required.
